The name of this rose in French means " Superior Crimson". It is as healthy a rose as you could wish for, and would do well in a no-spray garden. It has medium sized rounded blooms, sometimes with a white streak. There is a light fragrance. The plant has an open twiggy growth habit to about 5x5' or larger but can also adapt to life in a pot. The rebloom is excellent. I have found that this rose comes into its own after a couple of years, with its best blooms and rebloom once it is fully established. Bred in 1832 by Coquereau, rated as hardy from zone 6.
