This old Bourbon is a very vigorous climber which can be trained on an arbor or go up a tree and cascade down. It is thornless which makes it ideal for places where people walk. The medium sized blooms are a vivid deep pink and are very fragrant. There is a huge spring flush and sporadic rebloom. It is not immune to black spot but I find the leaves usually look pretty good. My plant is under a crabapple tree. Below the tree in shade it blooms well, and it also blooms at the top of the tree. Bred by Bizot in France in 1868, hardy from zone 5.
The color is pinker than what is in this tree picture.
